What is the maximum amount of cost for health insurance coverage for a child that obligor must pay?

The court will order the obligor to maintain or obtain coverage for the child if health insurance is available for the child through his employer at a reasonable cost.

If health insurance is not available through obligor’s but available through the other parent’s employment or a state agency, then obligor will be ordered to pay the reasonable cost to provide medical support to the other parent or the state agency.  The medical support ordered will be in addition to the amount of child support owed by obligor.

The reasonable cost of the health insurance that obligor will be required to pay cannot exceed 9 percent of the obligor’s gross income.
